Class blog for week ending 2-04-11
“Obvious” is the most dangerous word in mathematics.
God exists since mathematics is consistent, and the Devil exists since we cannot prove it.
In mathematics you don’t understand things. You just get used to them.
What is algebra exactly; is it those three-cornered things ?
One can always reason with reason.
The longer math lives the more abstract — and therefore, possibly also the more practical — it becomes.~Rochelle Tallmadge

Class Blog week ending 1-28-11
When I enrolled in math 98 my gidance counsolor told me not to since I did not place in math 98 on the test. But I insisted on taking the class as I know lots of people who failed in the other courses and it scared me as I can not afford to fail as it will hurt my GPA and may have a negative impact on my financial aide. Finally the counselor gave in and let me inrole in math 98. I think maybe I should have listened to the counselor.
this is my math class Blog for the week ending 1-28-11
Any how I do math constantly on a daily basis. Every thing is math. Math Math Math-Ugg it should be a law not to do math when you dont nessisarily need to. I have been adding up the time and hours not to mention the money I pay for my books, class time and homework. It is outrageouse. Expecially I feel if I pay a lot of money that takes away from my family to taker classes and then I find out all my hard work and money could be compromised by something so stupid. That is out of my control. Ok lets do the math—: I am juggleing a PT floral Designer Job+I am a FT student at the UNM-VC+ I am a FT single Mother+ I am the Bass Player of a well to do band=110%
1. Math makes me feel really uneasy. I had already taken a math class 15 years ago and the teacher was so mean and un helpfull I ultamatley ended up dropping the class. I am worried that I will not pass into math 101. I hear that math 99 is extreamly hard. I am excited about learning math so I wont be scared of it anymore.
2. I love going to school. since I started last fall I have learned so much and found myself to be pretty smart. I have worries that they may cancel my grants and I wont be able to pay for my classes. I am excited that I will be able to go on to bigger better things after I graduate and that I will be able to put my degree to some real use in my community. My goals for this semester are to complete my classes with high GPA and move on to the summer classes. I still have a long road ahead and I know I will succeed.
